Eleven of our students attended the 2019 Catholic Days at the Capitol along with myself, Dr. McCarron and Mrs. Barrett.  We visited the offices of Senator Bill Montford and Representative Lorrane Ausley.  Some of our students even spoke during these visits to ask them to support specific bills that are important to our school and the larger Catholic community here in Florida.  We also attended Senate and House proceedings and attended an awards lunch with several Supreme Court Justices, bishops, and key Florida legislators!   We finished up Catholic Days with the Red Mass at St. Thomas More. It was an educational and inspirational week for our students.

On November 3, 2018, our  Church celebrated the beatification of Blessed Clelia Merloni, who was the foundress of the Apostles of the Sacred Heart of Jesus.  Pope Francis said that she was “a woman wholly abandoned to God’s will, zealous in charity, patient in adversity, and heroic in forgiveness.”  The Beatification of Blessed Clelia Merloni was celebrated with a commemorative liturgy at the Cathedral of the Sacred Heart in Pensacola today, and Dr. McCarron, Bradley Copenhaver and I represented our school.  During this Lenten season may we be more like Blessed Clelia with charity, patience, and forgiveness.
Blessed Mother Clelia pray for us!

Our gym floor received its first ever facelift over spring break and is finally ready to be used! We held a barefoot Sadies dance on Friday while it cured, but the students are ready to put it to full use playing basketball games and volleyball games on it.  We left room for more state championships markers for the future.  Thank you to PTO, Boosters and our donors who helped make this exciting change a reality.

Our PTO General Meeting is this Wednesday at 6:30  p.m.  Report Cards will be distributed then, and NUD for students whose parents attend and a cookie cake for the house with most attendance.

During this season of Lent, we are having Stations of the Cross on Fridays after school.  We will also be offering Confessions to our students on April 15th.  We invite you to join us for both along with our weekly Masses on Wednesdays at 10:15 a.m.

Re-enrollment for the 2019-2020 school year has begun and the response from our returning families is heartening.  There are still a few who have not re-registered and an online re-enrollment information was sent to your email address.  If you have not already re-enrolled, please do so as soon as possible so we can better judge which classes will have the capacity for new students.

Speaking of new students now is the time when parents are making decisions about where their children will attend high school next year.  If you know of a family who is looking at schools for their high schooler, please have them contact Mrs. McGowan, our Director of Enrollment, to schedule a tour.  You, our current SJPII families, are often our best recruiters.  Please spread the word so we can add to our family in the coming years.

Eucharistic Adoration is every 2nd and 4th Monday, in the chapel starting at 8 AM.  There are still time slots available if you can spare one hour of your time to come and pray.  Adoration will be on the 2nd and 4th Mondays of every month.
