The mission of our school encompasses the education of the whole person- spirit, mind, and body within the tradition of the Catholic Church.  This last week’s accomplishments by our students exhibit all three aspects.  Our students received many accolades in academics, character, fine arts and athletics.  We also had students deepen their relationship with God.

Congratulations to senior Jenny Uriostegui who received the Good Citizenship Award this Saturday from the Fort San Luis Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution for her dependability, service, leadership, and patriotism.

Congratulations Perry O’ Connor and his team for placing first in the Commissioner’s Academic Challenge, a highly academic statewide high school tournament.

Congratulations to three of our students who were confirmed last Sunday at St. Thomas More:   Jacques Dixon, Johnathan Herrara, and Ian McFarlin.

Congratulations to Seniors Natalie and Savannah Laywell for being named Scholar-Athletes of the Week.  With their competitive spirits and tremendous drive, they are our co-valedictorians and three-sport athletes.  We are proud of all they have accomplished while they have been at SJPII and can’t wait to see what they do in the future!

I hope you were able to see our musical Thoroughly Modern Millie this weekend.    Many long hours went into this production!  Thank you to all the parents who helped in every way from design set, costumes, concessions and more.  Our students not only are talented on the stage but also behind the scenes.  Our students are stage managers, costume directors, costume assistants, set designers, and light and sound directors.  They are truly a gifted group! Congratulations to all of our students for three amazing shows and thank you, Ms. Ruiz, for her dedication, time and talents that she provided these past months to our school.
