Happy Easter!  I hope your Holy Week was blessed and your Easter was joyful!

As we come to the end of the school year, there are many events and activities happening at our school.  Please check our school website and social media (Facebook, Instagram and Twitter) to keep up with all the exciting things happening at our school. You will not want to miss anything!

Last week, confession by our local priests was offered to our students who wanted to participate in the sacrament of reconciliation.  Thank you to Fr. Tim, Fr. Foley, Fr. Anderson, Fr. Raj and Fr. Tom for taking the time to hear our confessions.

We also had a pulmonologist, Dr. Perez, speak to our students about the effects of e-cigarettes.  Vaping is becoming more and more prevalent in schools and among teenagers nationwide and here in Leon County.  We felt it was important that our students have the facts about the harms of vaping.  Some things they learned:

E- cigarette aerosol is NOT harmless “water vapor”
The e- cigarette aerosol that users breathe from the device and exhale can contain harmful and potentially harmful substances, including: Nicotine, ultrafine particles that can be inhaled deep into the lungs, flavoring such as diacetyl, a chemical linked to a serious lung disease, volatile organic compounds, cancer-causing chemicals, heavy metals such as nickel, tin and lead.
It is difficult for consumers to know what e-cigarettes product contain.

Please talk to your children about this growing problem and help us reverse this growing trend.

Tomorrow, we have our House Olympics.  Students need to wear their house shirts, athletic pants, and shoes.  The afternoon will be filled with fun games and points earned will go towards students’ houses.  After this event and our Easter egg hunt, Thursday, where students can accumulate more points, the winning house for the year will be announced.  The winning house will go on the House Trip May 4th and May 5th.  The trip will be announced at House Olympics- it’s a good one!

Good luck to our tennis team who advanced to Regionals after a district runner up finish!  They will be competing tomorrow against Pensacola Catholic High School.
