I will be needing tissues these next couple weeks as we say good-bye to our Seniors.  I could not have been more blessed with such an amazing group of young men and women and to be their final high school principal.  Some of them I have known since they were in elementary school at Trinity and some, I just met this year.  I have enjoyed every minute with all of them, and it will be an honor to give them their high school diploma in two weeks.

We started the good-byes this past Friday around the Mary statue with a final blessing and hope that they will always consider SJPII home.   They are welcome here anytime!  Some seniors will be back sooner than they would like for AP exams that start tomorrow.  See below for the schedule.  Students are to report to the gym on time.  If students are late, they cannot be admitted to take the exam. Students are to bring two sharpened no. 2 pencils, two pens with blue or black ink only, their 6-digit school code and the correct calculator.  There a lot of things that are not permissible including cell phones.  Please check the email from Mrs. Bayliss who discusses all of this.

Also, on May Crowning Day, we excitedly welcomed Senior Sydney Ewing into the Catholic faith.  It was moving to watch the Holy Spirit alive in Sydney and our student body. Sydney, we will continue to pray for you as you go off to college and may you “Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not rely on your own insight.  In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make straight your paths.” Proverbs 3:5-6

Congratulations to Senior Allan Jeanne – Rose who received an offer to play basketball at Fairfield University, an NCAA Division 1 school in Connecticut!  It has been a life-long dream of Allan’s and we are so proud that St. John Paul II helped you achieve this dream.  We are excited about your future!

Congratulations to another senior, Braidan O’Connor who was recognized as one of Tallahassee’s Magazine Top Seniors.  As he shared with Tallahassee Magazine, Braiden plans to major in Biology with a minor in business and attend medical school where he wants to become an orthopedic surgeon.  Braidan I am confident that you will fulfill this dream!

Finally, congratulations to our Prom King and Queen, Chosen Levarity and Nina Ijeoma, and congratulations to the court:  Nicole Cross, Spencer Duffey, Sydney Ewing, Allan Jean- Rose, Sara Grace Rooney, Logan Roberts, Luke Slay, and Janey Thorn.

Welcome to the Catholic Church Sydney!
Through the goodness of the St. Thomas More (Pensacola) Pastor, Fr. Nicholas Schumm and his Parish Council, St. John Paul II Catholic High School has recently acquired a strikingly beautiful Crucifix and two beautiful statues of Mary and Joseph.
Placed on the western wall of the Gymnasium, the new Crucifix is 9 feet, 4 inches tall and is clearly visible to all. A beautiful sacramental, it serves as a visible proclamation of the Catholic faith and professes a Christ-centered environment to our students and visitors alike. The statues of Mary and Joseph now adorn our SJPII Chapel, placed on either side of the Tabernacle. The statues, beautiful and awe-inspiring, enhance the Catholic identity of our Chapel and attractively reflect the tradition of our Church.
