Dear Parents,

We are excited to welcome you back to the third year of our St. John Paul II Catholic High School 1:1 iPad Program. We recognize the ever-increasing importance of digital technology in the lives of students worldwide and seek to provide our students with every advantage.

Our 1:1 iPad program will continue this year with new students receiving a 128-gig iPad Air 2 configured with on and off campus filtering software, Apple Care insurance (excluding theft), a protective case, and licenses for Apps necessary in the classroom. The iPads are specially configured as “managed” devices to ensure consistent security, configuration, apps and content. As such, no outside iPads will be permitted.

The cost of the program will be handled through SMART Tuition covered over a 2-year period. The cost per student, per year, will be $450.00 spread across the remaining months of the plan (ie. $50.00 per month, August-April). However, if you wish to pay in full, you may make a one-time payment of $900.00 payable directly to SJPII, by August 15th, 2016.

Details of the cost breakdown:
$758 iPad Air 2, 128 gig with AppleCare+ (insurance for 2 years)
$40 Volume software licensing, Schoology
$40 Griffin Survivor Case
$65 Mobile Device Management

We are sensitive to any concerns about cost and we believe that as this program develops, it will become cost neutral, especially as low-cost electronic textbooks become the norm. More resources and details of the program (ie. User agreements) can be found online and also attached to this e-mail.

Students will be able to pick up their iPads at our orientation on August 13th between 8 and 10 am. All students must sign the iPad Use Liability Agreement for this school year before picking up their iPads. New students will also need to sign the Apple Insurance Agreement, Acceptable Use Policy and the Student Use Policy at the bottom of this page. Please bring these forms with you when picking up your iPad.

Please print, sign and bring the following forms with you when picking up your iPad. Without these forms you will not be able to pick up your iPad on August 13th.
