Parent Volunteering

Service is at the very heart of St. John Paul II Catholic High School! Our success as a community is built on the dedication and generosity of every family, working together to support one another and the mission of the school. Each contribution—whether through time, talent, or treasure—helps strengthen our students, our programs, and our shared commitment to faith, learning, and service.

how does it work?

Record Your Hours

  • Service Hours per Family

Each SJPII family is invited to contribute a minimum of 25 service hours per school year to support the life and mission of our school community. This commitment, confirmed at the start of the year through the Parent/Student Handbook, is more than a requirement—it’s an opportunity to actively engage, strengthen relationships, and make a meaningful difference in the lives of our students, faculty, and fellow families. Together, every hour helps build a vibrant, connected, and thriving JPII community.

  • Service Hours Deadlines

To ensure all service requirements are met, seniors should complete their hours by March 31, 2026, and all other students by April 30, 2026. Planning ahead helps families stay on track and ensures a meaningful service experience. Any hours completed after April 30 will automatically roll over to the next school year, giving students additional opportunities to contribute to our community.

  • Who Can Help?

Service hours are non-transferable between families. However, family members—including grandparents, aunts, uncles, and older siblings—are welcome to participate and earn hours on behalf of your family. Volunteers must be at least 13 years of age to ensure a safe and meaningful experience for all.

How Can I Help?

  • Below are just a few of the many ways families can fulfill their Service Hour Requirement. For additional ideas, please visit the link above. We sincerely thank you for your willingness to serve—your time and talents make a real difference in the life of our school. We love seeing parents on campus and value the partnership that helps our community thrive together as ONE!

    • Monetary Donations

While we encourage families to participate through service hours, monetary contributions are also welcomed. Families may donate $15 per service hour, for a total of $375 for the full year if opting to fulfill the requirement financially. These gifts directly support our school community, from providing refreshments at sporting events to purchasing items from our Amazon Wishlist—and much more! Every contribution helps enhance the experience and resources available to our students.

    • Chaperoning

Whether you are guiding students on an educational outing, assisting with group activities, or helping supervise events on campus, your presence makes a real difference. Chaperoning not only strengthens the school community but also provides a unique opportunity to connect with students and fellow families while witnessing firsthand the impact of our programs.

    • Join the PTO

Becoming involved with the Parent-Teacher Organization (PTO) is a meaningful way to support St. John Paul II Catholic High School while earning service hours. Parents can take on leadership roles as Committee Chairs or PTO Officers, attend monthly meetings, help plan school events, or participate in a variety of PTO initiatives throughout the year. Your participation helps strengthen our school community, foster school spirit, and ensure that JPII continues to thrive in all areas of academic, spiritual, and extracurricular life.

    • School Events

Many of our service opportunities come from supporting school events throughout the year. Families can help with setup, cleanup, or event coordination for activities such as school dances, sporting events, Back-to-School Night, and more. Your time and support help make each event memorable and successful for our students, faculty, and staff.
