  • Theology

Our Theology Department seeks to instill in every student the message of salvation through Jesus Christ and the timeless truths of the Catholic Faith. Our mission goes beyond academics—we invite students into a transformative relationship with Christ, fostering faith, prayer, and moral integrity.

Guided by the Catechism of the Catholic Church, our curriculum focuses on four pillars:

    • Creed & Revelation – Understanding belief in God
    • Liturgy & Sacraments – Worshiping through the Church
    • Life in Christ – Living faith daily
    • Prayer – Deepening communication with God

  • English & Social Sciences

Our English Department fosters a love for literature and strong communication skills in speaking, listening, reading, and writing. Rooted in fairness, honor, and faith, we create an inclusive environment where students develop character, knowledge, and skills for success in high school, college, and beyond.

Our Social Studies Department cultivates critical thinkers and socially aware citizens with both local and global perspectives. Beyond historical knowledge, we emphasize historical thinking skills, enabling students to analyze evidence and apply Catholic values in decision-making. Our curriculum accommodates diverse talents, using varied teaching methods to strengthen abilities. Graduates leave with a versatile skill set, ready for success in liberal arts education and beyond.

  • World Languages & Electives

The study of world languages at SJPII extends beyond grammar and vocabulary, immersing students in the rich cultural, historical, and religious traditions of diverse societies. Rooted in the Catholic faith’s universal mission—Catholic meaning “universal”—our program encourages students to embrace the beauty of different languages and perspectives, fostering connections that reflect Christ’s call to love and understand all people.

Beyond language learning, our diverse elective offerings—including physical education, technology, business, fine arts, music, and performing arts—nurture students’ God-given talents and passions. Each of these disciplines reflects the Church’s teachings on the dignity of human creativity, the importance of holistic formation, and the value of using one’s gifts to glorify God and serve others.

  • Mathematics & Science

Our Mathematics Department provides a college preparatory curriculum focused on logical reasoning, problem-solving, and real-world applications. Rooted in Catholic values, our teachers encourage students to see the order and harmony in God’s creation through the study of mathematics, fostering both intellectual and spiritual growth.

Our Science Department instills respect for God’s creation, emphasizing the forces shaping our world and our responsibility as stewards of science and technology. Through critical thinking, ethical decision-making, and hands-on learning, students develop a deeper understanding of truth as revealed through faith and reason. Our faculty ensures students engage with science in a way that aligns with Catholic teaching, fostering both intellectual curiosity and moral integrity.
